Working
in pairs, students will use LEGO® Mindstorms Robotics System to compete
in fun real-world challenges like obstacle courses, tag, sumo
wrestling, maze solving and much more! On the last day student teams
will apply their skill for the ultimate “battlebot” tournament.
Each day will bring a new adventure, students will build a concept
model, and then morph it to better adapt and compete in each daily
challenge.
Students will have the opportunity to
work with complex robotic sensors, robot arms, drive trains and
programming "smarter" robots. Students will program robots to move, act
and think on their own. They will learn advanced programming skills
that allow their robots to react too many different sensory inputs,
that include advanced touch and light sensors. Each day we will explore
new engineering and robotic concepts to prepare student teams to design
and experiment with their own battlebot design.
