Creative Robotics
Technical Art and Design

Jumping Jiminy Crickets! The newest in robotics and programming fun is the PicoCricket®. Developed by MIT Media Lab, the Pico Cricket is designed for making artistic creations with lights, sound, music, and motion. It is a tiny computer that can make things spin, light up, and play music. You can plug lights, motors, sensors, and other devices into a Pico Cricket, then program them to react, interact, and communicate.

This course will combine technology and artistic creativity to allow students to create playful inventions to amaze their friends and family. The Pico Cricket is fun to learn, exciting to explore, and sets no limits on the creative process. Students in pairs will design their own creatures, sculptures or 3-D art, and then program the devices for action! Make a cat and program it to purr when someone pets it. Make a birthday cake and program it to play a song when someone blows out the candles. Make a bobble-head with multiple heads that jiggle and jump on command.

Your imagination is the main ingredient! For more information viist: www.picocricket.com
