Be an inventor! Light and sound
sensors, pulleys, wheels, levers and gears are all at your command!
Design your machine, program it, and start it moving. Working in
small teams, students will explore with the PicoCricket Robotic
Systems and Legos to build and experiment with robotics while using
advanced sensors including light, sound, touch and motion. Developed
by MIT Media Lab, the Pico Cricet is a tiny computer that can make
things spin, light up, and play music.
You can plug lights, motors,
sensors, and other devices into a Pico Cricket, then program them to
react, interact, and communicate. This course provides students with
a great introduction to programming, engineering and robotics.
Models may include a whirlwind of merry-go-rounds, speeding cars,
robotic grabbing arm, and more!
