Work with a robotics system especially designed for younger
students to create, build and program their own real working robots. Working in
small teams, students will explore with the PicoCricket Robotic Systems to
build and experiment with robotics while using advanced sensors including
light, sound, touch and motion. Students will also work with a floor robot. Our
logo programmed robots can make music, draw and even do a robotic dance.
As the students skills grow, the challenges & problems they solve
increase in complexity. Young programmers will be able to write their own
programs to send our robot through a number of courses and missions. In this
unique class, students are able to go from the virtual computer activity to the
concrete 3-dimentional one This course provides students with a great introduction to
programming and robotics. Daily challenges may include robotic bowling,
solving challenging mazes, navigating an obstacle course, and finally competing
in the Robo-Olympics. Robotic building projects may include: a robotic
animal, a robotic grabbing arm, robotic car, a robotic reaction game and
more. This exciting course will challenge your learners to use their
minds and creativity with hands on projects and explore many different
possibilities.
